Shan's Wedding

Attended Shan's wedding yesterday. It was held at The China Club. Cool place with a very nice and unique ambience and deco. The place has a very oriential feel to it. Quite different from the normal ballrooms and restaurants where wedding dinners are usually held.
Shan looked pretty in her gown:) It was like a mini uni gathering for me. I saw friends whom I have not seen for a long time and we managed to do a bit of catching up. A friend whom we all thought we had lost contact appeared :) we were all really gald that she came. Another came with his gf and we heard that they are getting married next year. "Hey congrats friend!"

Thought Provoking

你只需要花一分钟注意到一个人;

一小时内变成朋友:

一天让你爱上他;

一但真心爱上 . . .你却需要花上一生的时间将他遗忘,直至喝下那孟婆汤...

Winnie's wedding

Attended Winnie's wedding dinner yesterday. It was held at Paramount Hotel. Winnie looked great yesterday. It was the first time we all see her in makeup..looks different :) Many of the ex colleagues attended her wedding last night. It was like a night to catch up with the people whom you have not seen for a while. Think she should be at Japan enjoying her honeymoon now..*hey girl..enjoy yourself! See you when you are back!*

Dinner and Dance

My company had its Dinner and Dance held at Swissotel. We had our lunch kakis at the same table so it was fun. We girls made the effort to dress up for the occassion and all of us looked great that night. Neon made the most effort to dress up for The Oscars. He was V for Vendetta that night. There were many performances to entertain us and the host was superb! Oh..and of course there was the lucky draw that all of us looked forward to. Heard that the prizes this year were much much better then the ones last year. But we were all not that lucky except for one. JH managed to make it to the top 10 and won himself a prize! All of us enjoyed ourselves very much that night. The only thing is having to wake up the next day for work...~~

How I miss the clear blue sky

When can I see the clear blue sky again? The news say the the PSI is likely to hover around the unhealthy range till at least the end of the month. But the doesn't mean that the sky will be clear...

Clear sky

The weather today looks good. I can see a clear, although not blue, sky. At least not like yesterday. I almost drowned in the haze. Hope it remains clear today...no more haze please...~~~

FQ game

JJ invited me and JY to the FQ game. It is a board game that mimicks the real world, experiences that anyone of us can/will come across one day in life. JY is the BEST!! She got JJ to subsidise our entarance fees... hehe ;). JY brought along her hubby and we asked YS along to make it a foursome.

It was an interesting game for me. It made me had the chance to "experience" some of the things that I knew of but never really took them seriously. These "experiences" brought me awareness of how they can really affect me should they happen in REAL life~~~

Time flies ~~~

Wow...how time flies! I am already 10 months into my job. That will be 2 more months to the 1st year aniversary. Hmm..so how long will I stay in this job????

Angels by Norah Jones & Wax Poetic

I was listening to my music collection the week when I realised that I actually had this song in my collection! I first heard this song during one of my yoga classes last year. I still can remember that we were working on strength and the instructor will play this song from his own compliation. Although this is not one of those "yoga" songs, I thought it quite apt for the workout. It's motivating enough for me to persevere throughout the not-so-easy moves (and feel good after that :)). Since then, it has became one of my favourite songs although at that time, I didn't know what the song title was.

Let me see if I can upload the song somewhere and share it with you all ;)

Cheers

Fireworks

Went to see fireworks at Esplanade yesterday with CY and Hendry after the bdays celebration. Did not regret as the fireworks were nice. We were deciding whether we should meet up for the rest of the fireworks as well. :)
Still can remember the one that I saw on new year's eve this year...it's still in my head... :)

Godpa and Da Ge's bday

Celebrated both their birthdays at Kenny Roger's at Marina Square yesterday. We bought a pair of cuff links for god pa and a soft toy cushion for da ge to put behind his car. After that we went to the arcade upstairs for billard and some arcade games. We went for a drink at pacific coffee after that and then we each had our own activities...

The force of gravity?

Don't know why, but I keep dropping my things these days. First was my ezlink card. I literally "flew" out of my bag while I was in the cinema. Luckily I managed to find it after the show ended.
A few days later, my ring fell out of my pocket. I didn't even realise it was missing until after 10 minutes...then as I traced back my path, I found it.
Hope I won't drop anything... any more...

Ooo...so my brother has a blog...read some of his posts..never knew he was soooo vocal. Hehe...bro...now I KNOW you have a blog :P

All of our dreams can come true -- if we have the courage to pursue them.

Came across this statement by Walt Disney when I was surfing the net one day. As I read the statement to myself, I asked myself again and again what are the dreams that did not come true because I did not have the courage to pursue them...and then regret later.

I recalled a few of them. To me, it's a sad fact that I did not have the courage to pursue them then. There was only one chance. Once missed, you possibly may or will never come across the chance again. Some of them had caused me heartache, self-reproach and sorrow...

Perhaps I should tell myself that I should more courage so that dreams may come true~

Korea Trip (7th May 2006 - 14th May 2006)

Day 1 (Sun)
Took a 6 hour flight from Singapore to Korea airport (Incheon). We boarded the plane at around 12:45am. The plane took off at around 1.30am. Tried hard to make myself sleep, but couldn't really as it wasn't exactly confortable sleeping on a chair.

Day 2 (Mon)
Managed to doze a bit and woke up at around 5am..Singapore time. I have no idea which part of the world I am at, but when I opened the window, I could see the sun shinning brightly. The air stewardess served us breakfast short after that. It was stewed chicken with rice, accompanied with salad and fruits.

When reached the airport 830am (korea time). Korea's timing is 1 hour faster then ours. As soon as we left the airport, we were greeted by our local tour guide, Ellen. The brought as to the city to do a little shopping as we were still early for our flight to Jeju island. We went to Ewha Women's University Street to shop. Ewha Women's University is located there. We saw a lot of ladies going to school as we were shopping there. Noticed that they really dress up nicely, with make up, pretty clothes and heels. A far cry from what we see in NUS :p.

After that, we went to the domestic airport (Gimpo) for our flight to Jeju island. The journey is around 1 hour. On the way there, we experienced very bad air turbulance. Everyone had to be sitted throughout the journey. I could feel the plane moving up and down and up and down. The feeling wasn't exactly good. It was such a relief when we finally touched down.

We got on the tour bus and went for lunch after that. Lunch was steamboat.

Realised that throughout the whole trip, meals will always include the same few side dish, namely Kimchi, seaweed, 海带,beansprouts, ikan bilis, boiled green vegetables and beancurd skin. They are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Dragon Head Rock
We went to see the rock that looked like a dragon head after that. The wind there is realy strong and it got cold at night. Dinner was steamboat again.
After dinner, our sg guide brought us to a nearby Emart (supermarket) to buy things.
After that, bathe and sleep...

Day 3 (Tue)
We had abalone porriage for breakfast. And the restaurant owner was so cute. He specially prepared 2 toasts, 1 sunny side up and some jam for us as he was afraind that we couldn't get used to this type of breakfast. How thoughtful of him...hehe

We went to quite a few places on this day. We went to the teddy bear museum, lotte world (themepark)....

Nam Sangol Hanok Village
Visited one of the filming sites of Da Chang Jin. That place had people living there...so certain pases were out of bound. When we visited that place, the tour guide told us to stamp our feets all at once on the ground. We could all feel the hollowness. Seems that that land was built on volcanic ash...that's why the hollowness...

Mt Sorak
After that we went to Mt Sorak. It was pretty cold and windy there as the area was surrounded by the sea. There were steps for people to climb so that you can really reach quite some distance up the mountain...that is if you can prsevere ;)
The scenery there is also very nice.

For a while, I thought it would be pretty romantic to climb the mountain (or rather the steps) with a loved one (cos of the beatiful scenery and the coldness) :)

I wore my slippers and went out of the hotel, and my toes were freezing when I came back...

Day 4 (Wed)
Went to Gimpo airport and took a flight back to Incheon.
The first place that we went to was to the Kimchi School to learn how to make our own Kimchi.

We could bring the Kimchi that we made back to Singapore. Dad had some and said that it was "not bad". I couldn't bear the smell so I didn't eat...and after having ate this "thing" for so many days, I don't think I will ever eat it again...haha

We got a chance to wear the tradition Korean dress (hanbok) as well. Thought the guys look good in the traditional clothes. They looked more authoritative.

Stayed in Sheraton Walker hotel that night. There is a casino there. Our tour guide brought us in and some of them played for a while. They all played 大小. Most of them won some money, if not break even.

Day 5 (Thurs)
Yong Pyong
In the evening, we headed towards Yong Pyong. It was really cold. When we reached the hotel, the temperature was only 11 degree celsius...at night it dropped to 2 degree celsius! Phew..that was cooold

Day 6 (Fri)

Had the hotel buffet for breakfast in the moorning...a change from our usual Korean style breakfast.

Yong Pyong is a skiing resort. As it was spring when we went, there wasn't any people skiing.
Nonetheless, we took a cable car and went up to the top of the hill. We saw the skiing routes from high up. Atop the hill is a very different scenery. The scenery there is that of the mother natual. Very beautiful....and it was very very cold up there...

In the evening, we checked into a resort. It's like a traditional house. They is a living room, kitchen with stove and bedroom in the room. As it is a traditional house, we had to sleep on the floor. They called that "kang", as it will heat up as soon as the temperature gets lower at night. This is to keep people warm when they sleep on the floor.

The only "mattress" that was available was just about the thickness of two comforters...luckily there were a few mattresses available. We each had two layers of it on the floor.

After cheking in, we went to Waterpia to enjoy the hotspring. The hotspring is indoors. It was quite confortable as the pool had jacuzzi-like jets with water coming out There is an outdoor swimming pool as well...I had wanted to test out how cold the water is there...but as soon as I stepped outdoors, it was soooo cold that I ran indoors immediately after that....

After we got back to the resort, we were all amazed that as soon as we stepped into our rooms, we could feel that the floor is warm.

The next morning, everyone complained of backache :x

Day 7 (Sat)
Nami Island
Went to Nami Island. It's an island and we need to take a short boat ride there. There were a lot of people there as it was a Saturday. Many of the locals went there for picnics. It's a beautiful island with lots of greenery. That is one of the filming location of Winter Sonata.

We met with a bad traffic jam that day...the bus was crrrrrawling.

I could see a lot of expressways along the way, long long ones...but I don't understand why the traffic jam is still so bad..is it because many people there own cars?

The wind was blowing strongly as soon as we alighted from the bus. It was very cold...everyone was running into the hotel...and the good thing is the hotel's lobby was rather small. So we all squeezed ourselves in and managed to get some warmth...a blessing in disguised? hehe

Hotel that night was the best. We had a plamsa tv, vending machine, remote controlled toilet, suana, rain bath and internet access in the room...cool~

Some people suggested going to the nearby area for shopping...we didn't go cos the weather was really really cold...I rather stay in the room for a suana session...hehe

Day 8 (Sun)
Had chinese style breakfast in the morning. This is one breakfast all of us found most appetizing!
The tour guide brought us shopping...after that we headed for the airport for a flight home~

Taurans' birthdays

Had dinner with Jingyi, Yaozhong and Yushun yesterday. Seems that Sunday was Yaozhong's bday (23/4) and Yushun's bday is also round the corner (14/5). I never remembered the dates of their bdays, only remembered that they are both Taurans, one is in Apr, the other in May...hehe..but anyway, think I will remember the dates from now on ;).

This time round we went to Marina Square foodcourt for dinner. We order lots of food and shared them amongst ourselves. We ordered roasted meats, hor fun, claypot rice, satay, meatball soup, fried udon and hotplate curry noodles. The food there is not too bad for a foodcourt.

After that we went to Pan Pacific Hotel for drinks at The Atrium. A waiter served us whn we first stepped in. Perhaps the waiter is new to the job, he does really knows how to pour our wines and beer properly...I had merlot yesterday, and guess how the waiter poured the wine...he poured the wine into my glass and did not twist the bottle at the end of pouring to prevent any drops of wine forming. As a result, there were drops of wine on the table...and he did not even bother to clean it up...:(

Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves over the drinks and and had some good laughs over....(it's a secret!) ...Then Yaozhong mentioned that he will be going to China soon and he will be visiting Gobi Dessert. And he said he will bring some Gobi Dessert sand back for us.... ;)

So, any other Taurans around? ;P

How You Are In Love
You fall in love quickly and easily. And very often.
You tend to take more than give in relationships.
You tend to get very attached when you're with someone. You want to see your love all the time.
You love your partner unconditionally and don't try to make them change.
You stay in love for a long time, even if you aren't loved back. When you fall, you fall hard.

SP's birthday!

Met up with Chui Ying(mei), Winnie(da jie), Dave(godpa), Hendry(er di) and Siak Peng(san di) aka SP aka Xia Bing aka King Kong :P for dinner yesterday at NYDC. The main purpose...to celebrate SP's birthday! It was meant to be a surprise for him. We bought a Gandum toy model for him.

We happen to see a gorilla soft toy in NYDC that they use as their deco...so we got SP to pose with the cutie gorilla and took photos of him...hehe. Doesn't the gorilla look cute with the tie (courtesy from Dave)?

I had mushroom baked pasta, the creamy type (seems that many people know that I like my pasta creamy ;))! But I burnt my tougue as the baked pasta was rather hot... and it is still a little painful today...;(

We also got SP a mini ally new york cheese cake from NYDC as a birthday cake. Yummy...cheese cakes...I love them absolutely! We sang him a birthday song and wished him well. Look how happy he is ;)

Next in the line...Chui Ying n Hendry..;)

Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

Just finished reading this fantastic thriller by Dan Brown. Have read another book by him titled Angles and Demons (thanks to JJ :)). So far both his books had provided me with the suspense of who is the actual mastermind. You would be surprise that who you thought is the mastermind is not the mastermind at all! It is not till nearing the end that you will come to know who the actual mastermind is. It simply made me not want to put the book down at all! It's a book that is surprising at every twist, absorbing at every turn, and in the end, utterly unpredictable…right up to its astonishing conclusion!

If you have a chance, perhaps you should pick up this book and read too:)

Buffet Dinner at Conrad Centennial Singapore

Met up with Jingyi, Yao Zhong, Rumin, Liting and Jingying for buffet dinner at Conrad Centennial Singapore on Thursday 16/3, as agreed at Jingyi's wedding. The cafe's name is Oscar's. The food is nice, and the desserts are even nicer! They have lots of pretty looking cakes, and also ice-creams. I managed to try one flavour...Yao Zhong tried all...except coconut..hehe. Think there were 6 altogether. There are 3 different sections in this buffet: - the hot food section, where they serve chinese and western food, the cold section, where they serve japanese sashimi, seafood and salads and lastly the desserts section where they serve lots of yummy looking desserts!

Felt so full after the buffet.

After that, we started talking about going for a trip overseas...but, as usual, no conclusion...:P

3 months into my job

Wow...how time flies! I am 3 months into my new job already! Phew... actually managed to survive 3 months here. Actually it's nothing much really. What I have encountered here, I had already encountered in my previous job. No wonder people there used to tell me if I can survive there, I can survive anywhere. Now it seems so true...

My First Paragraph

This is my first posting on a blog...had nothing much to do, therefore created this blog. Had a hard time choosing an url name for my blog as a lot that I had wanted were unavailable. I am sure there must be thousands and thousands of bloggers over here...haha :P
