In real life, the truth hurts. Sometimes it's good to not know the truth and continue as though it has never happened. But it's my character to find out the truth no matter what it takes, (perhaps that is what you call stubborn) and finding out the truth hurts.
"Was hoping that sparks will fly but it didn't and I end up hurting myself once again."
